The Top Ten: #9

Continuing my series on my top ten favorite boys that I would take on/take down from BG East, We come to my number 9 guy!

This guy had my attention from day 1 when I first spotted him on Thunder's Arena. Though I wasn't a fan of the endless chatter he does in their vids, his physique certainly reaches through the lens of the camera and demands attention! It was only natural for him to make a transition towards the big leagues of BG... I'm speaking of course of the one, the only...Z-Man!

This little stud-puppy has been in the business for a good little bit now. Model physique, cocky, arrogant in the ring...he just begs to be squashed by nasty heels! What's more, to get beat up by him only adds to the humiliation factor if you do get your ass kicked. That's really what makes any of his matches a win-win for the viewer. Either you get a pretty-boy-bashing of him as a jobber or a cocky-attitude-preppy-boy-destroys-opponent kind of match with him heeling. Now I don't know about you dear readers, but either of these scenarios works well for me ;) Add to that the fact that he's actually got some good technical know-how behind those muscles and you can see why he makes my top 10.

More than just a model, I heard from an acquaintance from my last taping at BG that he's a really nice guy too and is constantly looking to better his wrestling skills. Z-Man (aka Zack Jonathan) has many memorable matches from his varied career in the Indy-Gay-Wrestling scene, but one that caught my eye most recently was his mat scrap with Patrick Donovan in Sunshine Shooters 4

This match was packed with many subs, excellent technique by both wrestlers and a ton of eye-popping angles that really get you up-close and in the action with the guys on the mat. And with Mr. Donovan in the match, it's like a feast of pumped-up pecs for chest lovers! There's one particular moment where Z-man has his arms trapped behind his back and Patrick just starts chopping on his chest over and over...grrrr! Love it!

All in all, I think Z-Man deserves his place on the list and I'm certain that him and I will cross paths on the mats at BG some day in the near future. We have to. I demand it! LOL!

Stay tuned because up next at number 8 will be a long-time fan favorite! He's cute, he's cuddly and he's a really sweet guy! He even gave me a lift when I was in Boston!

The Top Ten: #10

A topic that often comes up with guys I wrestle in private is the BG East roster. Which guys I've met, which guys I've wrestled (that aren't already up on the site) and which ones I'd like to wrestle one day if I get the chance. Usually the guys I wrestle have their favorites and their fantasies. "I'd love to wrestle (insert name here) because he's the best! He's my fantasy!" is the type of thing I hear a lot from my wrestling-buddies.

So that got me thinking the other day, which are my favorite in the BG boys? Which ones would I be all over if I got the chance and, more importantly, why? So after many, many hours of contemplating the full roster, I've come up with my all-time top 10 guys I'd hit the mats with any day. You'd think this was an easy task! In fact, the list took several drafts and many deliberate hours. It's really hard to narrow it down to a short list of 10. I intend to have a few additional "Special Mentions" after the top 10 are revealed.

So let's begin with number 10 on my list, the ever studly Kieran Dunne!

Mr. Dunne had some fierce competition when it came to securing his spot in my top 10. Ultimately, I couldn't resist his boyish charm and ever-improving physique. Talk about hitting the gym! Since his original debut matches, he's packed on about 30lbs of muscle to his compact physique! Quite an inspiration!

His beginnings as a jobber-boy got lots of heads turning. He took on big boys like Joe Mazetti and Mike Columbo with no fear of getting a royal ass-whooping. I mean, he was such an adept jobber, he lost his match against super-jobber himself, Troy Baker. Then out of the blue, he shows back up with a thick, pumped body and starts to take the other pretty-boys down.

One iconic match of his that really got my attention was against Christian Taylor on Matmen 19. Holy shit! The tall and slender Taylor getting bullied around by a gold-clad, tanned and buff Dunne was too much for my hormones to handle! The contrast between the two wrestlers was fabulous, their mat skills were great...it was just a feast for the eyes from beginning to end.

Now if I ever had a match with Kieran, I'm not sure which way I'd prefer it to end. He's hot as a heel now, but I do so love his jobbing. I think I'd want to smack him around a great deal and eventually force him to pose for my pleasure (forced-to-flex match anyone?) after I beat him. Then again, perhaps he wouldn't leave me the choice in terms of how the match goes down...

Either way, Kieran Dunne has solidly ranked himself in the top 10. You can check out his matches on BG East on this page.

Stay tuned as the list continues in the coming days and weeks. Next up will be another sexy, muscled jobber I know I'm destined to clash with on the mats in the coming months! It's in the stars...:)

Potential Smack Downs #1

In a recent post, I asked you, dear readers, to suggest which of the BG East boys I should take on next! Thus far have had a few guys suggested to me, so I figured I'd take the time to answer the challenges set forth by the readers in this post! Keep the suggestions coming and I'll address each of them in the future with my personal thoughts on what might happen in those matches!

First on the list is Skip Vance. I met him when I went down to Pembroke last fall among the cluster of fighters present at the BG East HQ. He's a nice guy with a cute little southern accent and pretty little blue eyes. That being said, I would destroy him. I mean, come on! If I can hold my own with the like of Austin Cooper in a match, what could possibly make anyone think that the outcome of me versus Skip Vance would be anything other than me whooping that pretty little butt of his? Perhaps the only way he could manage to get me to submit would be if he ropes in his hunky boyfriend Christian Taylor and they take me down as a team like they did against Cody Nelson on Rock Hard. Perhaps in that scenario, they could manage something, but if not, 1-on-1, this little guy is toast!

Next on the list of suggestions was the studly Reese Wells. I'll admit, this boy if fine :) Pretty face but mean looking, nice, tight muscled frame. I'll admit, he'd likely be more of a challenge than Skip but I think I'd eventually wear him down through the fact that I'm bigger than he is! I mean, if little guys like Billy Lodi can put him down, I doubt he has much chance against me in a match. Nevertheless, he does have skills and if he does move quick and hard against me, he might...just might be able to sneak in a victory. If not, I'm pretty sure I can take him without too much effort and roll him up for a 1-2-3. But even if it ends up going the other way, I wouldn't mind being pinned under this little stud! Hubba hubba!

Last on the list today is Lon Dumont. *Sigh* I met this guy back in Pembroke at the same time as Skip and a whole bunch of them. He's much smaller in real life than you'd think! Now him, I know would be trouble. He'd be mouthy and arrogant the whole match. I'd have to find a way to duct tape his mouth or get some fancy earplugs or I'll submit from just hearing him prattle on and on and on! However, if I can withstand his eternal yammering, I think I'll have to fight fire with fire. I could take him down by fighting dirty. I mean, real dirty! I'd be more trouble than he would expect me to be for sure. Plus, how could I resist pulling on that ugly mop of a haircut he has going on these days!  All in all though, I think it'd be an interesting match :)

Keep the suggestions coming guys! More than happy to give you my opinions on these chumps :P

Feedback! Feedback!

Well it looks like the whole poll thing was a big failure because the Blogger poll widget never really kept tabs on people's votes! Grrr! Remind me to head-scissor any Blogger website-maintenance people I know...
Nevertheless, it seems from comments I received in other places and the few brief votes that showed up on the site before the poll collapse that a favorite emerged:
Yes, my match with Damien Rush is so far the fan-fave! Granted Austin Cooper came in a close second, it is true that my match with Damien was also my favorite so far! That body! That BODY! Grrr! On top of it, he has a drop-dead gorgeous smile and a great attitude on and off the mats. *Sigh* Memories!
But rather than dwell on delicious memories of the past, I thought it would be time to look to the future! Since the poll feature seems to be a bust (for now at least), I figured I'd let you, dear readers, tell me which BG East stud should be my next opponent!
Leave your comments on this post, send me an e-mail (benmonacobge@gmail.com) if you're too shy to write it in public, tweet it to me (@BenMonacoBGE) or just shout it out to me if you're up in Montreal :P While you're at it, let me know what kind of match too!
On another note, it's my birthday on Friday! Yay! Thanks to all of you who have left me messages on sites like Globalfight! Always nice to get warm birthday wishes :) xxx

***NOTE: I will respond to any proposals of opponents in a future post :) ***

BFFs!

Taking a break from my chronology of my wrestling career thus far, I figured I'd share some personal behind-the-scenes info with you, my dear readers...

On camera at BG East, we wrestlers are all trash talk and attitude of course. However, off camera, we all get along really well! Most of the guys I've encountered are actually really sweet and incredible. We all come from different backgrounds, countries and upbringings.

Take for instance my latest match released on BG East with the stud-muffin Alain Leclair.  Big, beefy, strong...I ended up eating a lot of bicep in the end! Off the mats however, most people don't know Alain is actually...my personal trainer! In fact, I was the one who recruited him for BG East in the first place.

Before my first adventures down in the states with BG East, I wanted to hit the gym particularly hard to tone up for the shoot. It just so happened that I had an appointment with Alain at the gym for a new training routine shortly after finding out I was going south.

When I met up with him, I decided to be 100% honest about what I was going to do down in Florida and decided to tell him about BG and everything. Rather than get a shocked reaction, he seemed more curious and intrigued than anything else. In the following days we talked about it some more. Eventually, he asked if I thought BG would consider him for a shoot. I told him I'd take a few pics of him and bring them along.

Needless to say that one look at his beefy arms and beefy...everything else was enough for KL and KV to agree that he'd make a suitable candidate for filming! When I returned to Montreal, I told him about their interest and he was thrilled.

Before we went down to film our match, I ended up spending a few weeks training Alain in a lot of the basic moves he would need on the mat. He hadn't actually wrestled all that much in his life. I had to sacrifice (sacrifice! yeah right!) several nights of having him come over, strip down and wrestle around with me. I also made him watch some of my personal favorite matches from BG East so he could get an idea about their style. He was actually a very quick learner!

All this to say that he and I are friends like most of us are at BG East. So even if we're grunting and groaning on camera about how much we hate each other, lots of us are BFFs ;)
