Life Imitating Art...(Part 2)

So to continue on the last post, I had an interesting episode at the gym this morning...

I ran into an acquaintance of mine, this middle-aged bodybuilder who I met this summer through common friends and, yet again, my job. This guy has an impressive physique. Big arms, tight abs and shoulders as broad as the prairie sky (good lord, I'm being poetic). Every time I've run into him at the gym or elsewhere, he's greeted me with a big muscled hug and a cheeky grin. He's originally from the west coast of the US. He's chatty, flirty and always a delight to talk to. I sort of had a sense that he had a bit of a crush on me despite him being in a relationship with a nearly-as-muscled man.

I saw him last week at roughly the same time. He asked me about work, school etc. and he promise to come and see me at the store this past weekend. Well, as life sometimes gets in the way, he never dropped in. But as my earlier post can attest, I had my hands full already. So in the end it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Regardless, when he saw me today he apologized profusely because he didn't want me to think of him as being flaky (a stereotype of west-coasters that he's been trying to avoid). In my own little flirty way, I told him it was OK but he better watch out because next time "I might beat him up" if he didn't show.

Now here's the fun part... He replies with a big smile "You promise?" He then launches into an unsolicited discourse about how much he loves wrestling, how he wrestled in high school, how he thinks it's amazingly hot and how he would wrestle me any day.

Seriously. I must have some good karma from a previous life or something. The first time I saw this guy, my mind went to wrestling as it does with just about any guy who catches my eye. But to have him flip the tables on me...total shock.

I quickly explained to him that I too shared his enthusiasm about the sport and briefly spoke about my work with BG East. We resolved to one day soon meet up and throw down on the mats. I bravely told him I would kick his ass. He flexed his biceps and pecs and replied "You sure about that?"

The lesson from these two stories for you, my dear readers, is to go out there and take chances. Had the little buff wrestler from my previous post kept quiet, we would have missed out on an amazing new friendship and a hot match. Had I not dared today to flirt in a semi-wrestling oriented way, I never would have discovered this bodybuilder's shared passion.

So regardless of what it is in your life my dear readers, heed my advice: go out there and make your dreams happen :)

Life Imitating Art...(Part 1)

Some days, you get lucky.

Hello dear readers! I've had a rather interesting past couple of days that warrant a good blog post. As most of you have already read, I'm in a very busy stretch of existence since I'm back in school, completing another bachelor's. On top of those mental gymnastics, I'm also working part-time in a clothing store and currently have a grand total of 0 days off in my week. This has been a source of considerable exhaustion, but the semester is wrapping up and I'm soon going to be able to breathe for at least a few days. That being said, my life still has some interesting episodes that truly astound me.

When I chose the title of this post, I figured this was an appropriate title given that the events I'm about to go into sound quasi-scripted, almost like something out of a movie or someone's harlequin wrestling scenarios...if they existed :P

I was at work the other day, things were going along quite smoothly. Clients in, clients out, the basic kind of Friday afternoon I have grown accustomed to. Out of nowhere, like a gale force wind, these two guys blow into the store. Both seem friendly, charming, enthusiastic about their shopping endeavors. They're up from New York for the weekend to celebrate one of their birthdays. The birthday boy is zipping around, trying on some stuff, the other is far more concerned with his phone. He seemed to be looking up something...

They both end up trying things on. The birthday boy is set on a coat and a sweater. The shorter, buff one finds a light jacket after some failed attempts with some other items. One was a sweater whose sleeves were too tight, so tight in fact he said they were like "arm singlets" which I found to be a curious choice of words...

Finally, he comes up to me, flashes his cell at me and asks "Is this you?" and I immediately recognize the layout of meetfighters.com and see my profile pic staring right back at me. "Why yes it is" I reply, a bit dumbfounded. Right away, my mind is running through profiles I remember. Who is this little buff stud? Finally we whisper to each other and I confirm that I know this guy. He tells me his friend knows about his wrestling-side so we wouldn't need to sugar coat things in front of him.

At the cash, he gives me his number and email. I write him asap. He writes back. I write back. He writes back... My day eventually ends and I meet up with the two for a night out. We have fun, I flirt with the little wrestler. Eventually, we end up saying good night to the birthday boy and...well...needless to say it was a hell of a hot match. A very, very, very late night match. So a perfectly normal afternoon turned into a crazy hot night. I'll definitely meet up with this little stud again one day for a rematch.

But this post is "Part 1"...as it would happen, a second event occurred today that promises to be very interesting as well...but more on that in the next post ;)

College Boy

Hello once again my dear readers! How have you been? I'm doing good these days but I've been incredibly busy! Many things have changed in the past while for me as my life has shifted dramatically from what it has been earlier in the year! This has left me less time for blogging but I promise I'll still do what I can to keep you guys up to date on my goings-on ;)

First off, I found myself a part-time job working in a clothing store not too far from where I live. After many months of on-again-off-again employment and financial instability, I've managed to find a great job working with a great team. It feels incredibly good to be back in the working-world and feeling like I have money to start stabilizing my life again. The job is only part-time though because of big change number 2...

I'm back in University! Yes, after having finished a bachelor's about 8 years ago, I'm going back for another! The good news, for my American readers, is that here in Canada, tuition is crazy cheap compared to you guys. Whereas you would pay anywhere from 9500$ to 32000$ a year for your studies, here in Montreal I'm paying roughly 4000$ for the year. All in all, a bargain for me to go and get a new degree.

Speaking of being back in school, the reality is that I'm a tad bit older than pretty much all of the people around me. Granted there are a few people in their twenties hanging around in my courses, most are very young....not even 20 years old. But what's crazy to me is that there are so many hot guys  at my university! Holy shit! I don't remember the guys being this hot the first time around! I swear, it's like walking into and Abercrombie and Fitch catalog every single day! Lord knows I'd wrestle any of them if ever they wanted to throw down. Perhaps I will, you never know! Might find some new recruits for BG among the bunch...

The only downside to this whole life-shift right now is time. I currently have classes Monday to Thursday and I work Friday to Sunday...which means my next real day off is never. A small sacrifice, but a necessary one. The good news is that my days are not entirely full. I often have some longer breaks in my day which allow for a quick wrestling match if schedules work out. My week also allows for good gym time so that won't affect my developing physique too much.

On that note, I'll do my best to keep you guys informed and keep on blogging when I can. I actually have a few topics to write about in mind but I'll have to pace myself. In the meantime,
I have to go get ready for work...and drag around some textbooks to read on my breaks :P

Pride!

Hello again my dear readers! Sorry for the delay on this most recent post, it's been a busy month! Montreal's Gay Pride is a little later than most cities in North America. Ours falls the second weekend of August and I have been swamped with activities and shows (both going to them and being in them). It's been a very busy and crazy summer so far with my trips to Cuba and down to Boston, 3 different matches filmed for BG East, visitors popping up in the city and getting ready for an imminent return to university studies! Add to that a slew of boys running after me these days (none of whom are like that ass in my last post) and it makes for very little blogging time!

So rather than go into too much detail about all of these things and spend way too much time writing about it, I'm going to post some pics form Montreal Pride for you all to enjoy! You may even recognize some faces among my friends ;)

As the summer continues to wind down, I still have many more matches lined up with some guys from here and abroad. Trying some new training techniques at the gym and getting into great shape (I think anyway).

Hopefully all of you are having a great summer and getting some time out in the sun before the winter sets in! I'll keep you posted on my goings-on of the late summer before the chaos of university begins anew!

*Sigh*

Hello once again my dear readers! I'm writing to you at this late hour about a fun little topic you don't read about very often on my blog: dating!

Yes, as it is commonly known, I am a gay man and I am single (for now at least). As such, I often get asked out on dates and have guys running after me from time to time with varying degrees of interest. Even a handful of online wrestling buds have expressed interest in me which is stymied only by physical distance. As I've said before, if you want me to consider you a boyfriend, it helps to be in the same area code.

Now believe it or not, us BG boys do have actual lives and interests outside of what you get to see on our videos. We laugh, we cry, we smile, we frown...we're human beings! As such, we have complex desires and emotions that come into play in our relationships to one another and other people. It helps if you can reach us on a human level too ;)

Tonight I went on a very last-minute, impromptu date with a guy I met on a dating app. From time to time, I do try dating a guy outside the wrestler-pool and it usually ends in disaster or disappointment...as it did tonight. The guy was attracted to my pic and yeah, he was pretty cute as well. We met in a bar not too far from my place. One drink. Two drinks. I left after about an hour of awkward conversation.

Now, why didn't things turn out too well?

I'm a guy with a lot of interests and opinions. I can jump around in conversation and talk about a myriad of different subjects. One minute I'll be talking about politics, the next I'll be yammering on about science, the next I'll start chatting about the gym, the next I'll speak of interesting documentaries and movies I've seen and so on. To keep my interest, keep up. Have opinions. Have ideas. Share. Discuss. Defend. Argue. For Pete's sake, have something to say! Nodding and agreeing isn't enough. Interspersing my topics with "Right!" and "Uh-huh!" won't cut it. If I'm talking about stuff you don't like, share opinions about things that interest you instead! I've stared down some big guys on the mats before, conversation topics won't make a jobber outta me! Personality and opinions count for a lot in my books.

Let's say, however, you're a bit too taken aback by my conversational skills. I'm simply too much to handle for tonight and you want to bail. Even more simple, you're just not feeling it. Here's a tip: don't text your backup in big bold text to come and bail you out of the date IN FRONT OF ME. I swear, this ass-clown tonight decided to take out his phone and, in plain sight, text his friend "Please come and join me, I'm on a date and I don't like this guy." It's sad. It's classless. It's depressing that he can't even find a more polite or creative way to back out of an encounter that isn't going how he thought it would.  I don't care if you're on a date with me and you don't like me. Just say it to my face or don't text it in front of my face. Grow a pair and level with me.

All this to say, I'm still very much single as I have yet to find the guy who's a magical combination of both intellect and brawn. I like my guy to have buff muscles and a buff brain! On that note, have a good night guys :)

Rough-and-Tumble!

Hello my dear readers! It's been a little while since my last post. I've had a little busy period over the past few weeks that has caused me to neglect my blog. I normally would have posted earlier this month, but have had a few things standing in my way!

The biggest thing that caused me the most trouble recently has been an unfortunate little spill I took while at a friend's place. He has a condo with an amazing rooftop terrace and two floors linked by the steepest staircase in the world. Clumsy me, I missed the second step on my way down and now am the proud owner of two little scars, one on my chin and one on the top of my head. Oddly enough, as the doctors put it when they stitched me up, I was quite lucky in how I fell. I could have broken some bones or, even worse, ended up with a big disfiguring scar on my face. But alas, my scars are extremely well placed so my money-maker isn't damaged. As one doc said "You can go back to modelling, no problem"

The good news is that you won't really even notice that I have these scars in any more matches I film at BG East, unless the camera zooms in for an extreme close-up of my hair-line to see the little scar that protrudes. And really, in the end, even if you do, the one on my head actually makes me look a little more bad-ass than usual! Who knows, perhaps the scar will be my opening to being more of a heel :P

Other than the little tumble down the stairs, I've been busy with a contract job that just finished and with registering for university courses for the fall. Yes, you read correctly, I'm heading back to school this fall! It'll be my second Bachelor's degree and I'm looking forward to getting started on it! Lucky me that I live in a place where education is still relatively cheap and a second degree won't put me in the poor house.

On another note, if you read my last post, you saw that I had posted a poll on my Goggle+ account about possibly having a match with Darius at BG East (hopefully some day soon) and was asking what you the readers would like to see as an outcome for the match. Despite having whooped him in early voting, he made a comeback and creamed me with roughly 65-67% of the vote going in his favor for the win. Yet something strange has happened...almost as soon as he took the lead, his profiles on Google+, globalfight, meetfighters, etc. have ALL disappeared! Does anyone know what happened? I've asked around and most people are as confused as I am...hopefully he's alright and hasn't had any spills down flights of stairs like I have!

On that note dear readers, I wish you all a great start to your summers and I'll keep you posted on some upcoming travels I have ;)

New Poll!

Hello again my dear readers! So given the overwhelming victory of Darius in my poll on Google+ about who my next opponent should be, I've decided to ask a new question on there! If I were to take him on at BG East, what should the outcome be? I win? He wins? Should it be an even match? A squash? Any moves you'd like to see us perform? Go vote on the poll and if you want to share your specifics, feel free to leave a comment there or on this post ;) And if you're really, really shy, just drop me an e-mail!

Poll is here my dear readers!

Birthday Bash!

Hello again my dear readers! Did you miss me? I missed you! I had a pretty busy month of April as I suddenly found myself inundated with job interviews after a very dry start to my employment year. Good news, I'm employed again! Yay! Bad news, they're temp jobs! Oh well, some work is better than none! Every dollar counts and that's what matters ;) And from the look of things, a more permanent job may be on the way in the coming weeks as some new friends are pushing me towards some opportunities they have!

As some of you know, yesterday was not only Mother's Day but my very own birthday! It was a big one...one of those where 2 digits change instead of just one! I'll leave you all to guess what digits I changed to but most of you who knew about my birthday are already fully aware of how old I now am...

You may have read in my last post, I had created a little wishlist on Amazon for some wrestling-related items and other little fashionable things. As luck would have it, I had a very generous benefactor from the UK (you know who you are) who is a loyal reader of my blog and my most loyal of fans. He was kind enough to send me the two speedos you see in this post as well as the sexy t-shirt that I've got on while I'm typing this post! Needless to say, I'm more than thankful for his generosity! I've decided to keep the list active indefinitely for any of you who feel you want to send anything my way in the future. There's actually a good deal of wrestling apparel on Amazon and some really nice speedos for those of you who wrestle. Check them out, seriously!

On that note, enjoy the start of the summer season and go outside and play with hot guys! Who knows, they might just be wrestlers in disguise...
